An agro-industrial project does not end when the works are handed over, but when the facility produces. That is why we cover all four stages with a single point of accountability: the engineering that defines it, the procurement that sources it, the construction that raises it and the start-up that gets it running.
What sets us apart
We build Grupo Merino’s own infrastructure. When we raise one of the group’s farms or plants, nobody measures us by the handover: they measure us by whether it produces, a year later and every year after that. That is the standard we bring to every client project.
Engineering areas
Each project is approached with the discipline it calls for, and often with both at once: the plant itself and the cold chain that keeps it running.
Agro-industrial engineering
Processing plants, farms, silos and industrial complexes, with all the infrastructure that holds them up: civil works, roads, utilities, structures and mechanical and electrical assembly. This is our main discipline and the one that organises the rest.
Cold-chain engineering
Design and execution of industrial refrigeration facilities: cold rooms, freezing tunnels, machine rooms and cold stores, sized to what each client has to preserve and for how long.
We design, supply, install and maintain.
Group projects
Grupo Merino does not contract its projects out: IGM delivers them. These are the three works that explain it best: an industrial complex, a processing plant and a farm already in production.

Ecopark
Tinaquillo, Cojedes state
A 105-hectare industrial estate drawn from a blank sheet, planned along environmental lines so that export-grade agro-industry can operate inside it: industrial and commercial plots, roads, utilities, green and sports areas, all within grounds closed by a perimeter wall and access control.
It sits where it has to sit. Tinaquillo is the gateway to the farming and livestock region of Cojedes, where the raw material comes from, and it lies 96 kilometres from Puerto Cabello, the country’s main port, inside the Valencia–Caracas corridor that concentrates the most consumption. Ecopark is the point where that produce is transformed and made ready to leave.
This is not a plot of land with sheds on top: access, loads, electrical capacity and water treatment are sized from the first line for the industry that will work there.

Second animal feed plant
Ecopark, Tinaquillo, Cojedes state
Mersan’s second animal feed plant, built to the latest technology, inside Ecopark. It expands the manufacturing capacity of the group’s first business unit, the one that supplies both its own farms and Mersan’s network of stores.
It is under construction. Earthworks and the foundations of the main production building are complete, and the plant machinery has been purchased and is in storage awaiting installation.
Of the project’s 15 million dollars, 9.5 are already invested in the plant machinery.

Granja Santa Clara Venezuela
Cojedes state
Grupo Merino needed a breeder farm and there was none to buy ready-made. IGM built it, from earthworks to start-up.
It opened in April 2026 and is running today, with the breeder flock in rearing. The first batch of chicks is due in September, and with it the group’s own poultry chain begins.

How we work
The EPC model places full responsibility for the project with IGM. The client has a single point of contact from the first line of the design through to commissioning.

Management
We plan, coordinate and control the project: scope, schedule, cost and quality, with documented tracking at every stage.

Procurement
We specify, quote and purchase equipment and materials from qualified suppliers, keeping traceability and delivery times under control.
- 03
Construction
We carry out the civil works, the mechanical and electrical assembly and the installation of the equipment, under permanent technical supervision.
- 04
Start-up
We commission the facility, verify its performance and hand it over up and running, together with training for the people who will operate it.
Technical support and after-sales
The project does not end at handover. Our technical support and after-sales team provides business partners with everything they need to extend the service life of their facilities.

Our cold-chain team serves the whole agri-food chain, from the processing plant to the point of sale, and the pharmaceutical sector too, where temperature requirements are just as demanding, if not more so.

Partnership
We are the strategic partners of the Purever group in Venezuela, a European industrial group present across four continents. That is where the refrigeration equipment we install comes from, under the Friemo brand, along with the industrial panels and insulation systems, which are Purever.
